Ramble and a list. [10 Jul 2006|02:45am]

[ mood | disappointed ]

Given that I've posted playlists before, that I hope to make into a cd... this one surpasses 80 minutes though... and given that my playlists are very similar or have certain traits, I'd just like to say that I basically combined past ones to make this one... EXCEPT I have a theme for this one. Just chill, melancholy... traveling alone music.

Here it is: "Moonlighting"

1 Buddy Holly - raining in my heart
2 Built to Spill - reasons
3 The Tiger Lillies - danced all night
4 Nico - these days
5 Tom Waits - alice
6 The Dandy Warhols - sleep
7 Fiona Apple - waltz
8 Sia - breathe me
9 Eels - trouble with dreams
10 Magnetic Fields - long-forgotten fairytale
11 The Jesus and the Mary Chain - just like honey
12 The Zombies - way i feel inside
13 Blur - end of a century
14 Enon - making merry! merry!
15 Faith No More - i started a joke
16 Bauhaus - all we ever wanted was everything
17 The Flaming Lips - she don't use jelly
18 Weezer - the sweater song
19 Radiohead - high and dry
20 Pizzicato Five - baby love child
21 Echo and the Bunnymen - lips like sugar

The end.

Have a nice day.

Hand me a loaded gun and tell me not to shoot [16 May 2006|04:25pm]

[ mood | Bitch what ]

Ok so...Im going pretty crazy due to the fact that I have a whole other year of highschool and a whole other fucking year to spend with my psychotic father. I mean what the fuck? I cannot even spend ten minutes in the same room with him before I want to fucking kill him. He is such a hypocritical biggot that sometimes I wish I could leave right now. If it werent for me being under aged and the fact that I still have to graduate highschool I would split right now and never talk to that crazy ass mother fucker ever again.

On a lighter note..will someone, anyone, please contribute to my downloading/burning of music spree? Give me any song or songs you enjoy.

hey everybody, everybody...

I just bought the She Wants Revenge cd. It's pretty rad. I've heard them being compared to other bands:
"They have been often criticized as a derivative of a derivative; linking to the vocal stylings of Paul Banks (Interpol) and Ian Curtis (Joy Division)." -Wikipedia.com

what turned me on to them, was that they reminded me of Bauhaus... just a tad. The only album I have heard of theirs so far is Crackle. Which isn't too bad.

Suicide vs. Murder [07 Mar 2006|08:05pm]

[ mood | okay ]

Did Kurt Cobain really commit suicide or did Courtney Love murder him?

Really, I think Courtney love killed him. I mean, if you would look up all of the facts about the crime scene, it just doesn't sound like a murder. My boyfriend and i have talked about this so much, and his dad is an ex-cop. Even his dad agreed that it looked like a framed suicide.

My Proof:

1) It would be awefully hard to pull the trigger of a shotgun with your toes, and not even practical.
2) The suicide note wasn't Kurt's writing.
3) No fingerprints.
4) The heroin level in Kurt's blood was 3x the leathal dose (even for a hardcore user!)
5) With the high levels of heroin in Kurt's body, would be even be able to shoot himself?

I really think it was a murder. What do you guys think?

If you guys like old Blink 182, check out Box Car Racer. They're Blink 182, minus a member, and before they were Blink. Some rad songs by them are Tiny Voices, Cat Like Theif, and All Systems Go. Check them out!

I don't know if I've mentioned them before, so if I havn't, check out The Hard Lessons.

Has anyone heard of The Black Keys? I heard the were very cool, and I tried to go to a show a while ago, but they were sold out. This dude I met yesterday (who has great taste in music) said he went to their show at Club Bijou and thought they were the shit. So if anyone has some of their music and is willing to share?

Ok. Let's see if this'll work. Select a number, 1 through 5114, and I'll send you the coresponding song off of my iTunes. I'll probably yousendit, so anyone can get the song also. Yeah, you can select more than one if you want. Maybe this can let you hear new music that you may like. Yeah.

Bands that don't suck [18 Feb 2006|10:01pm]

Eisley : IM me for the tunes, these five siblings know what they're doing. Sherri and Stacey have haunting voices that fit their less-than-cheerful music. Not to mention the girls are super cute with an awesome sense of fashion. They are my personal style icons. Hells yeah.
The Decemberists : Folk/slightly-polka music that is insanely dark. A Cautionary Song is about your mother getting raped.
Wolf Parade : Just do it.

Alright, kiddies. I have a few new bands for you to check out, but you have to have a myspace. Ready?

Alright, go onto myspace and click on music. Look up the bands The Medics and the band Lola Ray. If you like indie music, they're perfect for you! They kind of have an ish pop-y sound to them, but i like them A LOT. Expecially The Medics. So, check them out!

My mom heard about this band on the radio today, and i checked out their webstie. I was not disappointed. They're called DBR and the Mission. It's Daniel Bernard Roumain; he plays violin, piano, laptop (!) and stuff. The mission is his band including two violins, a viola, cello ^____^, DJ Scientific, pianist, and a drum set conga player man. They're completely rad and the music is really fresh and intersting. The website is www.DBRmusic.com and of course, they have a myspace: dbrmission. yeahhhh.

oh, and they love philip glass. they perform together and shit. !!
